Hi everyone!
Well I'm sorry I haven't blogged in a while, I was quite hung up in
exams. The competitive season had taken a lot of time away from my
school, so i had to catch up in work and prepare for exams. Finally
things have calmed down a little so now i can focus on training. I
left for Florida on friday the 4th of July. Both programs are ready
for training as well, Lori and I have spent some time polishing the
program. Of course, it's still a work in progress with probably
another polishing session with Lori when I come back from Florida. I
had also learned a few weeks ago which international grand prix's I
will be attending. I will be heading to Ottawa for Skate Canada and in
Paris for the third time for the Trophé Éric Bombard.
Once again I visited the elementary school that has "adopted me". The
school has done so much for me to help me along the way to the
Olympics. I also visited my first elementary school who surprised me by naming they're gymnasium under
my name. The kids also worked together to make a mosaic of me skating!
All i can say is that I was in complete shock. I was honored and told
them that such acts of gratitude help me work harder and motivate me
through those hard days at skating. So I was glad to have made the two
trips to the schools that day.
I will be training to prepare for the Liberty competition, mid July.
I'm a bit worried since I only have a little more then two weeks to
train both my new programs. But it is also good since it will push me
to work harder. I will most likely update you all after the
competition. Once again I'm sorry for making you wait for my update on

Hi everyone!

Well I thought it was time to update the blog and tell you all a little bit about myself. I've just returned from a show in Korea called "Festa on Ice" with Yuna-Kim. I really enjoyed the show very much and I wish to return to Korea very soon. The fans were phenomenal and, I believe, made all of the skaters job much easier when It came to performance. I've never experienced such great response from the crowd, it'll be quite hard to beat. The country itself was great, I thought. For some reason the country didn't feel foreign to me and I was quite comfortable. Though, maybe it was because I was only doing a show and not a competition.
My new programs are coming along quite well. The short program is just about finished, Lori and I only need to make some finishing touches. We haven't started the long program yet, but I very much look forward to starting it. I'm actually looking forward to the training of my programs, since I haven't done much "in season" training. So lately I feel a bit lazy, which is the main reason why I look forward to running threw both new programs as soon as possible.
Schools is almost finished, which means that I will be leaving for Florida, once again, for the summer. Don came down to Toronto before I left for Korea. He had come down for a seminar, that we attended together, in Burlington, Ontario. He didn't have time to look after me everyday since I had been working with Lori on the programs, but he still taught me a bit. I wasn't too concerned since I will be seeing him very soon in a few weeks. So I will speak to you all soon and once again thanks so much for visiting my website and supporting my dream! Hello everyone!

Well summer is almost here, hope you all had a great winter season. I'm just keeping you posted on what is happening with me right now, since the season is pretty much over now. Well I've been attending a few shows lately, three so far. One in Quebec city, Aurora and just finished a Markham show this past weekend. I have a few more coming up and in may I'm heading to Korea for a big show.
As for programs it seems I will be getting two new programs. The short program didn't get the feedback we wanted from the judges unfortunately. We are still searching for a new long program piece, I haven't found exactly what I wanted. Other exciting news is that I have now started practicing my quad toe again and have been going very well. I've been landing them quarter turn cheated and I've just started again so its just a matter of time I hope to get it clean. Last of all, I would like to thank those who have made some donations to help me along the way. I always believe that the fans are just as important as a skaters pair of skates. A lot of athletes would not be where they are without supporters such as you. So thanks fans! And I will speak to you all soon. Take care and enjoy the spring season!

Hi everyone!

Well I have just landed in Toronto from my trip to worlds in Sweden. Quite exhausted from the trip since it was a very long competition; I arrived on a friday and didn't compete until the following friday.
I have to say that the whole competition was very successful for Canada. One silver medal, one bronze and one gold! I was very happy for the whole team and we were a great team. At the closing banquet the ISU officials announced and congratulated skate canada because we were the team with the most success during the week! So I felt very proud and happy that I had the privilege to be part of such a great year and team.
I was very happy with my overall performance, though there are things that I wish I had done better. I was pleased with the way my short program went since I had to skate after Brian Joubert, which isn't always easy. As for my long, I made mistakes that really weren't necessary. So I was a bit more disappointed with the long program. I doubled my triple lutz, which is usually no problem for me when practicing the program. I fell on my second triple axel, which I told you about before I left for sweden. Finally I added a double toe to my triple salchow, which wasn't planned, and so that meant I added another combination. My second triple axel was still counted as a combination, even though I fell. Because I added the fourth combination, the jumps didn't count at all (triple salchow double toe). All in all I was still pleased with myself, and like I said before, these world championships were just a learning experience for the future.
I will be doing a few local shows right now, so I will be back at skating in a day or two. I will keep all of you informed in a few weeks, with shows that I will be doing and any new programs that I will be getting! It is likely that I will be getting a new long program, though I don't know what music yet. But Lori will once again choreographe the program. Hello everyone!

I'm sorry I haven't wrote on the blog for quite a while, I've been quite busy running errands before I leave for the world championships.
Skating has been going well, been spending allot of time on both programs. Me and Lori have made changes to both the short and long program. In the long we have added the second triple axel, it hasn't been the easiest change. I realized that adding a triple axel isn't like adding any other triple, but it hasn't discouraged me. I continue to go threw my program and push myself to attempt the second triple axel, and hopefully it will slowly become more natural.
In the short program we have changed the order of my elements. The reason why is because I found it was quite difficult to do my last triple lutz after my death drop; my right leg began to fatigue which made my triple lutz a bit risky. So now my triple lutz is right after the circular footwork, the death drop is now the last spin. Anyways I will not spoil the program since you will all see it very soon.
I went to Florida last weekend to see my coach (Don Laws), I mainly went for an interview that the skating club organized. I was really happy to be there, especially because of the warm weather which Toronto is really missing. But I was especially happy to be there since I got to catch up with Don and really spend valuable time with him.
Don will be coming up to Toronto in about a week or so to look after me before we leave for Sweden. We are both going to leave from Toronto in about two weeks. I will update my blog when I arrive in Sweden as soon as I can. I look forward to writing to you all again. Hello!

Well my coach has come down from Florida to see me. It's been quite rough for the past couple of days, especially at the beginning of this week. Luckily I've slowly started to get back under myself and getting back into shape.
Now I have been seeing Lori (my choreographer) for the past couple days and we've been hard at work with both programs. In the short were looking through the program and making sure that were not leaving any points on the table because at worlds the short program will be essential.
In the long program we have added a second triple axel. Unfortunetly it doesn't seem as easy as it sounds; we can't just add another jump. One extra jump will change the whole program: the choreography, the elements and the timing of the whole program.
Keep in mind I always take allot of time to get familiar with changes. So you can imagine how frustrating it must of been for me at the beginning of all of this.
But fortunetly I worked on both programs over and over again until it really sunk in. And now that Don has arrived things should pick up the way it was before nationals.

Hello everyone!

Well I have just begun resuming my training again a few days ago. It luckily wasn't too difficult, compared to other times.

I've been working quite a lot with Lori Nichol (my choreographer) making changes to both my programs. Not any big changes but quite important; in the short we've been working a few hours on just bringing out the emotion in the program, which will be very important once I get to worlds. In the long program we rearanged my elements and made some changes to my transitions in the program to make room for a second triple axel. I am planning to put in two triple axels at worlds, but we will give it a few weeks and make a final decision later. But another of my goals (other than to bring three men to next years world championships) is to land or at least attempt both triple axels in the long program at worlds.
